Yes, the shade is made of wood. The base is mahogany and the stem is maple with a polished brass support for the wood shade. The lamp measures 20" tall with a 10" diameter clip on ash wood lampshade. It will accommodate a standard 60 watt bullet type candelabra based light-bulb (supplied). It has a easily accessible cord switch.
