The symbols 'breath' and 'graceful movement' surround the symbol for 'heart'
Each character, in Dick's collection, is based on researched antique versions of Mandarin symbols for the oriental concepts like love, beauty and serenity. The characters are made of two colors of hand-made abaca paper pulp. The character is formed in reverse and is then pressed into the white pulp to form a single piece of paper that is then mounted on a hand-made piece of red paper.
The characters vary in size and are framed accordingly. All characters are stamped with Dick D'Agostino's personal "chop" or symbol that translates - "Revealing the Nature Spirits through paper and light."
